Shot, rescued and healed: Indian street dog inspires community: This is a story about a street dog rescued by Animal Aid after she was shot in the leg with a shotgun. We named her “Shanti” which means “peace” in Hindi. Shanti is a shining example of grace and patience. It is a story about how the recognition and help Shanti received by Animal Aid helped elevate her status in the minds (and hearts) of the neighbors of her street.
